French Winter Mantel

I was inspired by some toile fabric I  had in my
sewing room to create a  French mantel.

I knew if I looked around in the closets,
I could come up with something.

I gathered  foilage from the  front yard for my vase.

Do you know the Meaning of the Fleur De Lis Symbol?

The symbol was adopted by a French king in the twelfth
century for his coat of arms. The symbol has been adopted
by military units throughout the years, as a way
of conveying strength and power.
The fleur de lis or "flower of the lily" is a stylized
version of a flower in blossom. It represents an open flower
with the upper center and drooping sides depicting the
petals and the lower center is the stalk

Here it is!
What do you think?
I think it needs more.

So I added this tea chest for balance.

  15. How pretty. I really like your square clock. I thought a fleur de lis was an interpretation of a cross, thanks for the education.
