Our First Snow of 2012 in KY

As the snow starts to fall, I can remember how
exciting it was to me as a child. I would build a snowman
and make snow ice cream. When we had a
large snowfall it meant sledding.
We used a large coca-cola sign.
It would really move down a steep hill.
Do you remember the red tin, round coke signs?
They would hold three or four kids.
As a young teacher, snow days were great for sleeping in.
My husband and I both started out teaching together so
we were as excited as our students to have a day off.

I still love watching it snow, but my sledding
days have passed.
I was in fear walking out to take this photo.
Not of falling and breaking my
old bones but of falling
 and breaking my new Nikon.
My husband would have killed me.

  1. I can so relate! :D Got up to flurries and sleet and hoped it would not last - thankfully it did not.
    Have a great weekend.

  2. Beautiful, and as much as I detest snow and ice, the first snow fall is kind of exciting, in a way. xo

  4. Jo, you are too funny about the camera. ;) Love your photos! The snow is so pretty.
I'm not sure why some folks are having trouble seeing your posts. When you changed your blog name, did you change your actual blog address? If so, maybe they still have the old address bookmarked. They probably need to subscribe again or rebookmark your blog. Wish I had a better answer for you.

  5. Your photos look like paintings. I really enjoyed. It is a pity that we do not have snow in Rio de Janeiro.

    Have a great week.
