Hot,Spicy and Fun!

Have you ever wanted something "Hot and Spicy?" I have been thinking about "Hot and Spicy" the past few weeks.
I decided to cook something up
this weekend . This was my inspiration for this tablescape.

I found these cute pepper plates and dishes at Pier One .
I knew they would mix well with my Fiesta Ware.

I chopped fresh tomatoes, green peppers,
and garlic to create a fresh salsa.

I made my famous country style potato salad.
I have a few Secrets, this is one of them. I will tell you it has a little paprika in it.  All my friends love it.

Made some Margaritas to cool off with.

I Slowed cooked Italian roast beef in the crock for 12 hours. It is a simple recipe that has  one can of beer, one bottle of Italian dressing, one jar of hot peppers, and cup of water added to a sirloin roast .

The corn chips were severed as the center piece.

I served it on a hoagie bun .
Hope you get inspired!
My dinner was spicy and fun. Have a great week! I am linking to:

Gurgle Pot Dinner

When  I was on vacation  at Virginia Beach ,
VA.  I found this cute
 beverage pitcher. It produces a
delightful gurgling sound as the
trapped air is released from the tail after pouring.

Had to have the matching salt and pepper shakers . Thought they would create conversion at dinner.
My grand daughter and daughter-in-law found the entertaining.

.I love the textures in these layers of blue and green dishes.

I added sea shell candles and fishing
bobbers for napkin holders.

I found all the pieces at different stores. Candles, crab bowls, and fishing bobbers were at Crackle Barrel. The dinner plates were at Dillard's. I found the salad plates and place mats at Home Goods

I added the vintage bubble cut glassware for more textures.

We didn't have fish, but we had beer can chicken and grilled vegetables and sweet tea.

My husband grilled all the food; corn, yellow squash, green peppers, onions, and tomatoes with a little EVOO.

It is so hot here that we didn't want soup.  We add  a fresh sweet and sour  slaw. I love the slaw recipe. It was my mother- in-laws.  I am not using sugar any more. I am trying out Truvia and love it.

For dessert we had fresh fruit with sponge cake filled with pudding and topped with whipped cream.
Hope you have a great week.

Kentucky Browns Birthday Brunch

Sorry, I have not been posting this past week. I have been subbing in a  Kindergarten class of twenty two.
They were wonderful children but
I  was wore out by the time I got home.

We celebrated my daughter-in-laws
birthday this past week with a birthday brunch.

I used my  Shamrock green Fiesta ware paired
with the Peony Patch plates by Paula Deen.

I kept my Easter Table cloth on .

I embroidered the six lime green napkins and added a beaded napkin butterfly ring from Pier One.

The Kentucky Browns were a hit! They are made from roasted turkey breast, bacon, tomatoes, cheese and a thick whole wheat bread ,covered in a cheese sauce. I put that on the side.

I added a Fresh strawberry pretzel salad. Deviled eggs, and my home made potatoes salad.

And what else, Sweet tea and Birthday cake.
My sweet daughter-in-law just turning 31.

Birds of A Feather

I photographed these Pink  Flamingoes at Bush Gardens, Tampa, FL in April. Their beauty  was  breath taking.

I love how they were posing on one leg.

There were hundreds.

But this was my Favorite ! He too is standing on one foot! So I wonder why they stand on one leg. This is what I found.
" God has given the flamingo a neat way to stay warm, hunt food, and to stay unwrinkled ."
The flamingo is an interesting bird to watch.
